RAVE Foundation, the charitable arm of Seattle Sounders FC, believes in using the game of soccer as a vehicle to empower and inspire. RAVE removes barriers to participation on and off the field, and supports, catalyzes and strengthens communities in the Puget Sound region.
RAVE Fields. RAVE will build at least five fields in ten years in urban, accessible settings, for free play. RAVE fields will catalyze community leadership, stewardship and capacity, and will inspire programs and activities. RAVE’s flagship field will open at Yesler Park in 2018.
FREE Play. RAVE creates a culture of inclusive, pick-up, pop-up soccer and brings that experience to communities through its RAVE Octagon, a one of a kind, transferable modular playfield that allows soccer to be played anywhere, by everyone.
ONE Ball. RAVE believes a soccer ball in an invitation to be creative, be active, and be confident. By giving EVERY kid a soccer ball, RAVE fosters inclusion, health and fun! RAVE plans to distribute 100,000 soccer balls to underserved youth over the next ten years.
GOALS for Art. In pop-up, pick-up soccer, goals can be trash cans, sticks, shoes or any found object. The goals at each RAVE field will be public art derived from and reflective of the community they inhabit. The GOALS for Art program brings sport and art together with programs and opportunities for families and youth.
